Hamang is an old industrial site along the meanders of the river Sandvikselva, the project re-evaluates the urbanization in relation to the dynamic of the expanding river, reusing the old industrial building for school facilities and a local activity center, while leaving the floodplain free from constructions to let the river expand when needed. This project is part of Future Built, the Norwegian Program for sustainable, carbon neutral urban development.
